There’s always a crowd and fun there with us and like we said this place really rocks!! We’ll be getting ready to bring the New Year that weekend so don’t miss our last show of the year! Be there!!!
An finally, a rescheduled date at Burkes Tavern ( www.burkestavern.net) in Niantic, CT down the road, February 2 nd. We like this place, we’re sorry we had to reschedule our last date, but this venue is worth it for us!
Once again, if your looking for the next best thing other than to catch an Equinox show, you can occasionally find our very own, “Gary S. Jones” ( www.garysjones.com) performing solo and acoustic at a few local Springfield area small venues and pubs. One of his favorite up close and personal venues he likes to perform at is The Tavern Restaurant, 1 South Broad St, Westfield MA. and the Tavern Restaurant in downtown, downtown Springfield, MA. You can reach him via email through his website, linked in a few places here on the Equinox website to find out when and where his next public performance will be.
Keep checking our dates calendar for the announcement of more new Equinox dates for next year for January and February….

News….20 September 2006
Hey People!
We just got some new venue dates!!!……but first:
We want to thank everyone who came out to see us at Connecticut River Brewer’s Festival last weekend! We had a blast!! There were many Micro breweries there and the beers were great! We want to thank Jim Marcyoniak (Brewfest operations manager), Shari Guyer (stage manager for the brewfest and Springfield Symphony) for inviting us and providing a great outside sound and system and also our very own Brian for landing the gig! Sorry to those who didn’t find out in time, we caught this date just 2 weeks before and posted it on our dates page when we confirmed the details.
Alrighty! The new dates:
First, a new venue, Burkes Tavern (www.burkestavern.net), just 2 weeks away, is popular new venue for us down the road from Rocky Neck State Beach near the CT shore line in Niantic. We’re there Friday night, October 6 th! Okay, beach season is pretty much over, but from what we’re told this place rocks! They host many popular bands year round, have lots of room, a full dinner menu and an excellent house PA. We’re there! Come join us, the ride‘ll be worth it!
And…. A date we have been anxiously waiting for…one of our favorite venues to play; Geraldine’s (www.geraldinesniteclub.com) in West Springfield, MA. We’re there Friday night, October 20! This venue really gets go’n, rocks and is a real happen’n place, so don’t miss this show!!!
If you’re looking for the next best thing other than to catch an Equinox show, you can occasionally find our very own, “Gary S. Jones” performing solo and acoustic at a few local Springfield area small venues and pubs. One of his favorite up close and personal venues he likes to perform at is The Tavern Restaurant, 1 South Broad St, Westfield MA. You can reach him via email through his web site, linked in a few places here on the Equinox website to find out when and where his next public performance will be.
We’d also like once again, to plug former band mates of Ron’s from “Busted” (both of them big supporters of Equinox) with their new bands. Don with “Wired”, who just performed their first debut gig at All-stars in Manchester, CT and Ross, who recently became the new drummer for the Bon Jovi tribute band “Jovi” who actively play the entire New England area. Check out our Links page for a link to their band websites for more details.
On a very somber note, Equinox offers our deepest sympathy to fellow musician, guitarist and good friend of Ron’s, Lou Johnson of the band “Quintera” and his family for the loss of son, Philip, during combat in Iraq on September 3 rd. His funeral was last Friday. There will be a benefit concert on Friday, October 27 at the Knights of Columbus in Enfield, CT for Philip to donate to a charitable cause in his name. Our very own Mike will be performing at this event with other bands and friends of “Quintera” and the Johnson family. Many of the details for this event will be available soon.
Keep checking our dates calendar for the announcement of more new Equinox dates for November.
We will see you soon!

News....25 August 2006
Hey Everyone!
Just to let ya know, we didn’t fall off the face of the earth! The month of August has been a busy month for various band members with vacations and other activities. We kinda took a little unplanned sabbatical. But, we’re back and ready to play! We tentatively are planning to play our next local venue Friday, Sept ember 22 nd and a couple in October. Those dates will soon be announced.
We really want to thank everyone who came out to see us at Geraldine’s in West Springfield last month! The club really liked us, we enjoyed playing there and thanks to a great turn out from our friends, family and fans, it went very well! We want to thank Ritchie Sky for doing a great job with running our sound that night! It was a great Show and we’re planning to be back there one of those dates in September or early October! The pictures from that gig will be up very shortly! Sorry for the delay!
On a side note, Don, a former band mate of Ron’s from “Busted” and a big supporter of Equinox has a new band called “Wired” (www.wiredrocks.net). They will be playing the Hartford area soon.
As you know Equinox is a big fan of Steely Dan, who happen to be playing at the New England Dodge Music center in Hartford. Gary and Paul will be there! Just for the record, Equinox has enough Steely Dan material in our repertoire to play a full set, last count, 11 songs. Typically we only play 4 or 5 a night. We are also a big fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Brian has caught 2 of their area appearances this summer.
Once again, we truly want to thank everyone who has made it to our past shows and have demonstrated all their support!
Keep checking our dates calendar for the announcement of when and where our new venue dates will be!
We will see you soon!

News….23 June 2006
Hey Everyone!
Here’s the latest…..
OK!….we promised you some shows at some of the best area club venues and now we’re gonna deliver 3 in a row coming up in July in the heat of the summer fun!!!
First, is 125 Riverside Drive in East Hartford, CT, a top of the line outdoor venue we’ve ultimately wanted to play! We’re there on Friday, July 7 th. It’s right on the CT River and has 2 outdoor stages. We will be one of 2 headline bands that will be playing alternate1 hour sets through the night from 9:30 to 1:30. It has a huge stage, an outdoor bar, lots of dance space, plenty of seating and great food! It’s one of the best venues in the area to see a live band outdoors!!!
Next, on Friday, July 14 th, we appear at a brand new venue in South Windsor, CT, called Club 645. It’s been under other names in the past, but the new owners have completely renovated and expanded it. Conveniently located not far from Route 5 or the Buckland Mall, come party with us there, it’s gonna be a great time!
And…the following Friday July 21 st, the club all of us in Equinox consider the best venue for bands locally, Geraldine’s in West Springfield, MA!! They have a great house PA system, a large dance floor and 2 large bars and this place is always rockin!! We’ll be plenty warmed up for this gig, so be sure to try to make it out to this one!!!
On a side note, we’d like to bid our close friends of “Busted” farewell with their departure. Todd, Mike and Ron had a chance to sit and play a few tunes together at their last gig at All Stars in Manchester, CT. That was a blast! We wish them the best of luck in their future musical endeavors; They’ve been a big support and inspiration to us. You’ll more than likely see one or more of them, at some point, sit in with us at future gigs!
We also want to let you know or make note for those interested on the lighter musical side of shows, Gary has a solo acoustic gig where he occasionally appears at smaller, public, quaint, up close and personal venues. He performed solo last weekend at TJ’s Sporthouse in Agawam, MA and the Tavern in Westfield, MA several weeks before. Anyone interested for his future solo appearances, contact him through his website, on our website link to “Gary s Jones Entertainment.”
We have John Larson Sound Company doing sound for us for some of the upcoming shows. John did sound for us at Club Meadows. He’s got a great ear, a resume of experience, excellent equipment and does great job! We’re glad to have him work with us!
We’d like to also mention, we’ve added a few new tunes recently that really rock, so be sure to come check us out at any or all of these upcoming shows!!
Now that we’ve had several weeks in May and June off, we’re more anxious than ever to play out!! Once again, we truly want to thank everyone who has made it to our past shows and have demonstrated all their support! We continue our quest is to be the best we can be, for you, so that when you come out to see us you’ll know you’re gonna have a great time and hear great classic rock music played and performed like no other area band!
See ya soon!!!!

News....9 May 2006
Hey Everyone, it’s getting better all the time!
We played the last two weekends back to back and had a blast! We’re in the larger venues now and it can only get better! We’ve had a few gigs under our belts and every show has gotten tighter and been a better and better performance! We used pro-sound for both of the last 2 shows and it has made a tremendous difference for us, not only overall better sound quality, but just as a big convenience, allowing us focus to do what we do best, being musicians and entertainers!!
We truly want to thank everyone who has made it to our shows and has demonstrated their support! Our quest is to be the best we can be, for you, so that when you come out to see us you’ll know you’re gonna have a great time and hear great classic rock music played and performed like no other area band!
A special thanks to Don of “Busted” for making out to TD Shenanigan’s. He’s done a lot of PR work for us through “Busted” and has really hooked us up! We pulled out a Greenday song at TD’s just for Don to sit in on. Great job, Don, you truly are the front man!
We also want to thank Eric of “Jim Moltin Sound” for running sound at TD’s and John Larson as his sound co. for running sound at Club Meadows. Great job guys!
We now have a repertoire of over 60 songs. That’s over 5 hours of music. Of course, any show we only can play 3 hours worth at a time. So…take a look at our artist list on our music webpage and if there’s something by one of those artist’s you haven’t heard us play or something you haven’t heard us play in a while, let us know we’ll work it in to our play list that night if we know it! Contact us!
Right now we have several tentative shows that are lined up and will be soon announced once we confirm the details…SO….keep checking our “Dates” page on our site!!!
Once again, don’t be shy, email us and get on our emailing list and we can let you know about the soon to be upcoming dates and details ahead of time!

Once again, a special thanks to Ross and Doug of “Busted” at this last show. Ross did our sound, which we truly appreciate! Thanks Ross!
Alrighty then….that about wraps it up for our trial gigs! We refer to it as our 3 gig “Blow it out your ass tour”…inspired by some belligerently drunk dude we met during our set up at Mickey Finns.

And…...for those who absolutely can’t make it to TD’s, and of course those who can, …..we have another show you can make it to! Club Meadows on North Main Street in East Longmeadow, MA Friday May 5 th. It’s Cinco de Mayo and were gonna celebrate it, so be prepared!!
As we mentioned, we’ve got more venues on deck to play at, the rest of this spring and into the summer from Springfield to Hartford that will be secured soon. So…keep checking back with us to find out where we’ll be on the dates page of our website!
Don’t be shy, email us and get on our emailing list and we can let you know about the upcoming dates and details ahead of time!
